I know I have not been the best friend to you
But I have also not been the best friend to me.
I wish for you to know how deeply I do care
As I continue to find my own way.
When you get hit so many times from the one who says they love you
And I know I have done the same to you as well
And I am not talking about a fist in the face
I am talking about the power of words that carry an even greater weight
At some point someone has to stop
So we can both be good to each other and ourselves
And the rest will take care of itself.
