BETTE DAVIS MOVIE – Pamela Leigh Richards

Posted in: Films by Pamela on March 19, 2009

This was my third ‘short’ movie while attending
The Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, Arizona.

It is important to read the background to the making of it in order to understand it.

I had left my home in England in August of 2005.

Had no idea what I was going to do upon landing in Sedona

But synchronistically stumbled across this school and signed up.

I had finally found my canvas to create using the medium of film.

Each week we had a ‘topic’ to work with.

This was the week we were to do it on ‘family’.

The class was divided into groups.

My group decided to do it on my ‘family’ for it had some content
And something we could all work with because I am related to Bette Davis
And my father was a fighter pilot in the Air Force.

The method of learning was like going to “boot camp” and loved every minute of it.

In seven days we went from conception, filming, interviewing subjects,
Location travel, capturing footage, logging footage, writing the story, editing,
Music and at the same time learning it all along the way. Whew!

Fast paced, I must say, but all in all, extraordinarily wonderful.

Some points to know in order to understand the film:

1. There was a running joke in class because I was always saying I am very visual!

2. There were NO EXCUSES 🙂

3. I had no clue about editing upon entering the school, which I found was something I love to do!

4. Every time I had to change any edit it took forever to ‘render’ so I could view it,
Therefore, I left many things I wanted to do
in order to present “something” to the class when it was due,
which, is what you see here.

5. I was leaving my classmates in the middle of sessions for two weeks to California.
This explains the “missing you all” bit, and the “I am leaving on a jet plane” bit.

So, before watching please try and imagine yourself sitting in a dark classroom
At a film school … watching one of their mates’ films.

This film was personal between them and I.

It had no real rhyme or reason to it.
But did the best I could
As I tried to use as many ‘effects’ as possible on my learning curve 🙂

The computer and my skills at the time,
Could not begin to elicit the visions I had in my mind
But all is perfect and ok
For this experience was beautiful along the way.

It was a nine month course.

I left after three months to go back home to England.

I loved my time there, very memorable and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I could have made many changes before putting it up on the internet
but felt to leave it “Raw”, as it is, and as it was originally done in 2005.

One mistake in it that I later confirmed
is My Aunt Marion was working at “Mariners Book Store” in Laguna Beach,
not a candy shop when she was discovered by Bette and Grant.

All in great fun! 🙂

Thank you for watching and hope you enjoyed it.

CLEAN THOUGHTS

Posted in: The Observation Deck by Pamela on March 17, 2009

A person who sends negative thoughts
Is polluting his own water
Of which his body is 75-90% composed
And giving it a negative charge.

Have ‘clean’ thoughts.

IT’S WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT

Posted in: The Observation Deck by Pamela on March 16, 2009

I feel something growing inside of me
As I peel away the onions of programming
The knots in the rope of my life are untying
The chains at my feet are unbinding
I am becoming more secure with sense of self
As I let go of all that went behind me
Isn’t “life” what we are here to achieve?
It’s what you make of it and all you believe.

IT IS OUR TIME TO LIVE

Posted in: Quotes & Poetry by Pamela on March 15, 2009

What is happening in the world is happening
Because people have first been sold the lie that we have an enemy.
Then people put on uniforms and go to war
People got hung up in a spinning whirlpool

People have lost touch with what it is like to be truly free
Flowing in a river or just floating in an ocean
Their every breath has a cost to pay
In order to enjoy their two week holiday

They have forgotten that life is not about surviving
It is about living
And it is time to remove the cause that put humanity in prison

It is not something outside but the very mind within
It is time to disgard the trash and throw it all away
It is time to be simple in a most humane way

The only thing that matters right here and right now
Is not the seconds ticking by on any given day
But the moment that stands still

Look into each others eyes and never let go.
Even though you move away, hold onto the vision.
The understanding, the depth of what is beyond the eye in sight.
It is the light of day, flying through the night.

Remember the power sits in what you know
Collectively we are the formidable resistance
Free your minds and hold onto this persistence
It is boundless in the infinities of below and above
It is the only strength one needs in the power of love.

BETTE DAVIS “Stardust”

Posted in: Films by Pamela on March 13, 2009

This was a beautiful ‘Fan’ created video in tribute to Bette Davis,
with scenes from a movie on Bette’s life called:
STARDUST (2006).

If you look closely in this video?
At 6:35 into the timeline you can clearly see a UFO passing over the house.

The lady speaking in the beginning clip is my Aunt, Marion Richards.
Marion was the live-in nanny for Bette and Grant’s only natural child B.D.

William Grant Sherry fell in love with Marion,
divorced Bette and eventually married her.

The life of Marion Richards is truly a movie within a movie.
Bette Davis adored Marion and had great respect for her.

Channel 5 Documentary

THE DOCUMENTARY CALLED:
“David Icke Was He Right.”

Please google this title if you wish to view.

For those who do not know,
this is a very personal/public journey.

The making of this film holds a very special place in my heart.
The crew had come to the house and as they were setting up I brought out my camera to film them filming David. I was ‘filming’ the making of the ‘filming’ of this documentary. The Director, Norman Hull, who has a brilliant creative mind, saw me walk in the front room with my broadcast quality camera and asked if I would be in the film? So, this is how I was in front of the camera, as well as behind it.

David wanted me in it.

I received a Final Edit copy of the film and noticed one spot where the transition between two scenes was incongruent. I wrestled between saying something or letting it go? Insecurities were kicking in. Was there enough time to edit this suggested change? Because it was quite clear to me and in viewing it from the audiences perspective, I thought, I must say it without ‘fear’, speak my mind, and let them decide. I was humbly surprised and very happy that they did make the change suggested and do feel it made a significant difference in the flow of the film at that point.

Doing this taught me to follow my heart first, before thinking twice.
To never give up and never not speak your truth, no matter what.
I was removing insecurities too, as we all have them.
Take a chance because you never know how good something can turn out to be!

Linda, David’s first wife, said in this film,
which, I found relevant for all to take heed with?

I can remember Gareth [son] coming home one day saying some boy had said:
“Your dads mad.”
So Gareth said: “So’s yours.”
And this boy said: “But you don’t know my dad.”
And Gareth said: “Exactly”

And Pamela says “Exactly”.
For what this former extended family did to one girl.

Condemnation without investigation. A true height of ignorance.
To believe anything based soley and purely,
on what anyone simply says is frightening.
And believing in another so much so,
that their very words are received without question,
is damaging.

CLOSE THE GAP

APPALLINGLY CLEAR

It has become appallingly clear
That our technology has exceeded our humanity.

A strange man uses holographic tools to build a world for the woman he loves.
This is a short by filmmaker Bruce Branit.

I am so tired of the nonsense in this world
It is time for the power of the people to wake up
It is time to wipe the slate clean
It is time to come together as one
For all of nature and humanity.
For Harmony. For Peace.

Change your mind
Change the world

CHANGE DIRECTION

Posted in: Quotes & Poetry by Pamela on March 10, 2009

“I am on a path that is opening my eyes to truth with every blink
Concrete walls towering above the soft soil beneath my feet
People scurrying just trying to get enough to eat
Panic and fear seems all the rage
I see a way out and that is to turn the page.

Nothing exists where our attention is not
A newspaper clipping can say anything it wants
Yet means nothing if not being watched.

Look me in the eye, have you forgotten I am here?
People have been divided, it is time to make it clear
Without governments or contracts for there is no need
The way to peace is really quite easy.

Nature is crying and so is humanity
It might seem chaotic, yet, is our great awakening
Take responsibilty for the deeds one has done
The time is now for forgiveness and love.
And I’m not talking about the 60’s or flower power
I am speaking of the might that is all of us in the final hour.

The world is my family and all of existence too
We are not seperate and must break the divides that attempt to rule
Break the chords that bind our minds
Break the chains to our ancestrial ties
Be the ones to put an end to war right here and now
For the generations of children to come
For us all to live in a world
Of Freedom.

A virus only survives if fed.

Buying the lies feeds it.
Putting on uniforms feeds it.
Fighting feeds it.
War feeds it.
Seperation feeds it.
Destructive thoughts and behaviours feeds it.

STOP Feeding It.
Change your mind, change your thoughts, Feed Peace.
