It is time to make a stand for what ‘one’ believes to be true.
It was not easy for me … I had insecurities too as many do.
Along the way of my life, I observed, experienced, searched and grew.
And if I am wrong about anything I will be the first one to hold my hands up and apologize.
It is important for us all to reach out together, no more divisions, no more hiding the truth that sits within you.
This is me today. Tomorrow I might be different … and that is okay.
Bend like a branch in the wind.
Know to stand tall before any trompling upon your being.
Forgive, Let Go and Make it Easy.
To sink or swim is a choice we can make … but I see a third choice and one I choose to take

This was one of the best times of my life, filming for PBS in Southern Colorado in the Sangre De Christo Mountains, which is the longest mountain range in the world and holds the most reported sightings of UFO activity with ships being seen flying into the mountains.

I wrote in my journals that this place, this land is so full of granite and quartz crystal
that when the sun shines on it, it sparkles.

The love that was shared in this field of energy was intense, to say the least.
Happy, there was just happiness in great abundance eminating from every heart.

The last two photos are split due to crunching on this blog (still haven’t figured it out yet?) of me sitting on the ground filming my lovely friend Beatie singing on stage.

where I was filming for a PBS documentary in June of 2008.

She is wise, beautiful in every way and I fell in love with her music.

I was invited to film as a three camera team

on an expedition taking us into a place called “Libre” (means Free in Spanish)

where the commune living there was going to be celebrating their 40 year anniversary together.

It is set in the Sangre De Christo Mountains,

the longest mountain range in the world

that spans across Southern Colorado and into Northern New Mexico.

It is so full of quartz crystal and granite that when the sun shines on the land it sparkles.

It has the most reported sightings of UFO activity in the world, I have been told,

and many sightings of ships or what some might call “spacecraft”

dissappearing into the mountains.

We drove from Sedona, Arizona through Northern New Mexico (Albuquerque)

and on up into Southern Colorado.

PBS (Public Broadcasting System), a network station in America

is doing a documentary called: “The Last Commune Standing”, soon to be aired.

The reason for filming this 40 year anniversary was because the founding members of this commune,

who are well known in their own rights, were coming up in age

and the Producer wanted to capture the incredible stories the members had to tell.

Artists, scientists and activists cutting the edge of life.

Pushing boundaries and prison walls.

These people were connected to the mind benders of the 60’s

like Terrence McKenna whom Beatie’s father was best friends with.

One of them went to Yale and was in the dorm with George W. Bush for four years.

The documentary is all about the human spirit and what these people have endured.

So, amid this beautiful land for their 40th anniversay, I was priviledged to be there with them

to film and to have met this lovely singer from England, Beatie Wolfe.

I had never been to a commune before.
I fell in love with the stories, the people, the life, the land and the experience.

I danced and filmed among them in this forest setting.

Later in the evening as I was filming at the front of the stage, Beatie stood next to me

and all I could feel was an enormous amount of love pouring into the field of energy

we are all connected to.

It felt so FREE!

A bit sweaty and hot from filming all day but took a moment aside when the party really began.
I love you Beatie!

This was my third ’short’ movie while attending
The Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, Arizona.

It is important to read the background to the making of it in order to understand it.

I had left my home in England in August of 2005.

Had no idea what I was going to do upon landing in Sedona

But synchronistically stumbled across this school and signed up.

I had finally found my canvas to create using the medium of film.

Each week we had a ‘topic’ to work with.

This was the week we were to do it on ‘family’.

The class was divided into groups.

My group decided to do it on my ‘family’ for it had some content
And something we could all work with because I am related to Bette Davis
And my father was a fighter pilot in the Air Force.

The method of learning was like going to “boot camp” and loved every minute of it.

In seven days we went from conception, filming, interviewing subjects,
Location travel, capturing footage, logging footage, writing the story, editing,
Music and at the same time learning it all along the way. Whew!

Fast paced, I must say, but all in all, extraordinarily wonderful.

Some points to know in order to understand the film:

1. There was a running joke in class because I was always saying I am very visual!

2. There were NO EXCUSES

3. I had no clue about editing upon entering the school, which I found was something I love to do!

4. Every time I had to change any edit it took forever to ‘render’ so I could view it,
Therefore, I left many things I wanted to do
in order to present “something” to the class when it was due,
which, is what you see here.

5. I was leaving my classmates in the middle of sessions for two weeks to California.
This explains the “missing you all” bit, and the “I am leaving on a jet plane” bit.

So, before watching please try and imagine yourself sitting in a dark classroom
At a film school … watching one of their mates’ films.

This film was personal between them and I.

It had no real rhyme or reason to it.
But did the best I could
As I tried to use as many ‘effects’ as possible on my learning curve

The computer and my skills at the time,
Could not begin to elicit the visions I had in my mind
But all is perfect and ok
For this experience was beautiful along the way.

It was a nine month course.

I left after three months to go back home to England.

I loved my time there, very memorable and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I could have made many changes before putting it up on the internet
but felt to leave it “Raw”, as it is, and as it was originally done in 2005.

One mistake in it that I later confirmed
is My Aunt Marion was working at “Mariners Book Store” in Laguna Beach,
not a candy shop when she was discovered by Bette and Grant.

All in great fun!
